Being sick is something that everybody is trying to avoid. Sicknesses can be a cause of many different things.
When we get sick, we recognize the value of everyone around us. Just like what Dorothy Fisher said, we give value to our health when we get sick, we give value to what is good and the value of having a time to rest. Health is something that one must fully invest in. Specially if there is no way to support medical needs in case something goes wrong. It is also good not to self-medicate when you feel something has been abnormally relevant to your body functioning. Being sick is something that less fortunate people are fighting against.
Today, I am greatly saddened for my brother’s condition. After a dreading time in the surgical section where they performed a colorectal procedure last New Year’s Eve, we were quite surprised of the size of the mass of the tumor that was surgically removed from his pelvic colon. It's the size of the half of the dextrose bag. When I asked the Doctor what were the possible cause of this, he said that one major possibility would be a Colon Cancer.
Right now, the question of why him has been asked quite a lot of times already and it was kind of devastating to me. Medical help is so hard to come by specially for those who are in need and less fortunate, and if you are living in the Philippines. And it happens to be that my brother doesn’t have enough for his own medication, and to add more of the injury, his kids needed him badly. He works for an appliances center where he gets paid only when he goes to work at a provincial rate. And what my family can contribute is nothing, compared to what we can gather.
I am devastated of what more can I contribute without jeopardizing my relationship, work, and our financial needs. Staging of the cancer and the gravity of the chemotheraphy can lead us all into coming up with idea on how to financially give solution to this. The tumor turns out to be malignant and we are all just waiting for the stage of the Cancer.
In writing this, I would like to ask for anybody reading this, who has the heart and generous enough to share their kindness and help us in raising money for my brother’s medical needs. He’s got four kids, who are smart, beautiful, and very young and they needed their father very much. And it will help them if he wins over this illness. We hope that for everyone reading this, you can share wholeheartedly any amount you can.
